AERATED CRAWL SPACES USING DISPOSABLE FORMWORKS

One aspect not to be underestimated during the restoration of old buildings is the healthiness of the ground floor. The rising damp and still worst the normal radon gas emissions from underground can affect the full enjoyment of such areas. A technique adopted by our company to overcome this drawback is the placement of PVC disposable formworks to form a cap under the floor, which retains moisture and radon. Radon is a harmful gas as it emits nuclear radiation, it is often present in not too ventilated and humid low areas. Providing a layer of plastic modules, properly ventilated, with holes that provide an air circulation towards the outside, prevents the accumulation of this gas in closed environments. After creating a layer of gravel, we proceed to form a rough slab of concrete with electro-welded net; modules will then be placed and above them another layer of concrete with electro-welded net on which installations and and pavings will be assembled. All this work is accomplished by providing drains and pipes of the various consumptions.
